Cancellation Policy

PLEASE READ THIS POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING

At PUA, we want to be as accommodating as possible, but late cancellations do waste the valuable time of our instructors while also depriving other students of bookings. As such, we have had to implement the following cancellation policy to prevent resources from being wasted. We thank you for your understanding.

CANCELLATION WITHIN 48 HOURS

Students and Private Hiring Pilots are required to provide Phil Unicomb Aviation (“PUA”) with no less than forty-eight (48) hours’ notice of any cancellation. If you cancel your booking with more than 48 hours’ notice, then there will be no charge. If you cancel your booking with less than 48 hours’ notice, then the following cancellation fee will apply:

• Ground Theory Booking: $70.00 per hour of reserved time.
• Theory Exam Booking: $80.00 per hour of reserved time.
• Private Hire Booking: $90.00 per hour of reserved time.
• Flight Training Booking (sim/aircraft): $100.00 per hour of reserved time.
• Flight Test Booking: $110.00 per hour of reserved time.

We understand that some cancellations are caused by unavoidable circumstances, and we will consider applying these fees on a case-by-case basis.

“NO-SHOW” CANCELLATION

If for any reason a Student or Private Hiring Pilot fails to appear for their booking without providing any prior notice, they will be taken to have been a “No-Show”. In the event of a No-Show, the Student or Private Hiring Pilot will be sent an invoice for a No-Show Fee of $150.00 per hour of reserved time.

Again, we understand that some cancellations are caused by unavoidable circumstances, and we will consider applying this fee on a case-by-case basis.

WAIVER OF FEES

If any of the above cancellation fees apply to your booking but we are able to fill your booking with another student or private hire, then the cancellation fee will be waived.

HOW TO PROVIDE NOTICE

If you need to cancel a booking, any of the following methods are acceptable for giving notice:

• Phone call or text message to your Flight Instructor.
• Phone call or text message to Phil Unicomb (0447 474 307) or Toby Unicomb (0477 634 141).
• Email to admin@philunicombaviation.com.

Please note that cancelling your booking via Flight Schedule Pro is acceptable if done at least 48 hours prior to your booking. Cancellation via Flight Schedule Pro is not acceptable if the cancellation occurs within 48 hours of your booking. If you are making a cancellation within 48 hours of your booking, we ask that you use one of the methods noted above.
